Art Transcends Spoken Word
Playford Friends Group
14 June – 11 September 2024
Art serves as a universal language, capable of expressing emotions and narratives that words often fail to capture. It provides a platform for individuals from diverse backgrounds and walks of life to connect on a deeper level, fostering understanding and empathy. By showcasing the artworks of these diverse groups, this exhibition not only celebrated creativity but also served as an awareness campaign for accessibility and inclusivity.
In a world where barriers still exist, initiatives like this exhibition play a crucial role in breaking down societal norms and paving the way for a more accessible, inclusive, and compassionate society. Through art, these groups strive to bridge gaps, promote understanding, and create a space where everyone’s voice is heard and valued.
This exhibition stood as a testament to the power of collaboration, bringing together individuals and community groups such as Playford Friends, Deadly’s Craft, Paint & Shake from John McVeity Centre, Marni Waiendi and Elizabeth Rise, along with disability support provider Vibrant Care. Through combined efforts, we aim to harness the transformative potential of art.
Artwork can evoke positive emotions, reduce anxiety, and provide a sense of comfort and distraction. We value community and connection and aim to share a dedicated, holistic, nurturing, and safe space to share our unique stories.
