The Hospital Research Foundation (THRF) Group – Creative Health held a special art therapy session at the Lyell McEwin Hospital (LMH) in September to celebrate the hard work of its dedicated staff members.
On 3 September, staff were invited to take some time out of their day and look after themselves by using pipe cleaners and crepe paper to make a bouquet of paper flowers.
Led by THRF Group – Creative Health’s visual arts tutor, Kaz Pedersen, the session focused on mindfulness and allowed staff to take a moment out of their day to unplug.
The activity is designed to help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety by allowing the participant to focus their mind on the task at hand.
The hour-long session was held as part of Women’s Health Week and was a collaboration between THRF Group – Creative Health and the hospital’s Women’s and Children’s Division.
Thanks to the staff at the LMH who took part in the mindfulness session, we appreciate the work that you do!
