The Centre for Creative Health (CCH) is thrilled to deliver its inaugural Art Prize that will occupy a unique place in both the health and arts landscapes in South Australia, recognising and promoting the important role of art in health and wellbeing.
Entrants are invited to respond to the theme of Healing, as it relates to human and physical, and mental health and wellbeing. The Prize is open to South Australian artists over the age of 18.
“We are thrilled to be delivering our inaugural Art Prize and support our many talented artists right here in SA,” said Fiona Smithson, Executive Director of CCH.
“The Prize has launched right at a time when challenges of both physical and mental health are paramount in our society, and the Prize seeks to invite and support a conversation around these issues.”
Overall the Prize will offer a total prize package of $51,000.
Entries of 2 and 3-dimensional works responding to the theme of Healing are being invited from South Australian based artists.
There will be a Preselection Panel for the Art Prize, consisting of: Penny Griggs, Sarah McDonald and Logan Macdonald.
The Judging Panel for the Art Prize includes Diana Laidlaw AM, Margo Hill Smith and Nicholas Linke.
Winners of the Main, Emerging and Veterans and First Responder categories will be announced 30 September 2021.
