Art is Alive at the Fringe

Adelaide Fringe West Village CCH

The Centre for Creative Health (CCH) is thrilled to be part of this year’s Adelaide Fringe Festival, with four exhibitions presented by CCH on display at the Royal Adelaide Hospital showcasing incredible artworks by a breadth of South Australian artists.

This Fringe Festival, CCH has been involved in a new initiative launched by Mercury CX and Cinema, along with members of the Lion Arts Precinct and the West End Association. Together, the group has created a new Fringe Hub to unite multiple businesses and arts organisations under one banner, located in the CBD’s West End.

The West Village is Adelaide’s creative, artistic and cutting-edge entertainment precinct. Launched in 2022 as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival, West Village comprises of 18 venues, 88 events and 410 shows over 31 days.

The West End Hub kicked off on Saturday 18 February where the public were encouraged to leave special notes of appreciation for our frontline health workers who’ve been impacted by COVID-19. The work – a collaborative painting – will be displayed on the main concourse of the Royal Adelaide Hospital during the Fringe Festival.

CCH’s Senior Curator Fi Borthwick said: “CCH is thrilled to be part of this initiative and the vibrant arts community in the West End Precinct of Adelaide’s CBD through our exhibition program at the RAH.”

“Identifying as a ‘home’ for artists, creators and makers, West Village promotes inclusivity and support for the broader arts landscape while celebrating the importance of the arts within our community.

“Through our popular exhibition programs and involvement in initiatives such as West Village, we hope to broaden the scope for artists exhibiting with us and encourage a greater understanding of the fundamental role art has on our health and wellbeing.”

The general public are encouraged to visit West Village venues and events, throughout the duration of the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Click here for more information on the Hub.

CCH is thrilled to be a part of this fresh and exciting offering for Adelaide’s creative cultural landscape and we hope to see you there!
