2023 Exhibition Call Out

Curators Fiona Borthwick and Steph Cibich

Expressions of Interest for our 2023 Exhibition Program are now open!

Established in 2016, the Centre for Creative Health (CCH) is a charity of The Hospital Research Foundation Group and a leader in the provision of best practice art therapy, music therapy, diversional therapy, exhibition programs and other initiatives to improve health and wellbeing for patients, families and staff in hospitals including the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (TQEH), Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, Repat Health Precinct, Lyell McEwin Hospital (LMH), Modbury Hospital (MH), the Jamie Larcombe Centre and Southern Adelaide Palliative Services at Flinders Medical Centre.

CCH works with South Australian artists to create healing environments for patients, visitors, and staff through our Exhibition Programs at the RAH, TQEH, LMH and MH.

The Exhibition Program is coordinated by CCH’s Curatorial team. It reflects the diversity and vitality of contemporary artists whilst promoting the role of art in a health context. Featured exhibitions present new opportunities for audience engagement by promoting a creative, healing environment and democratising experiences of visual excellence. Such experiences are comparable to those acknowledged by government arts agencies and the National Arts and Health Framework. They also enable staff, patients, and visitors to purchase artworks.

CCH encourages exhibition proposals featuring works which are technically skilled, conceptually rich and visually engaging. Those exhibitions with a strong Arts in Health context will be most highly considered.

Successful applicants will inform the curation of the 2023 Exhibition Program and receive the following:
• An opportunity to exhibit in a unique, publicly accessible health precinct.
• An opportunity to sell artwork (CCH receives 25% commission to support the Exhibition Program).
• Curatorial support by CCH’s experienced curators.
• Promotional support through the development of wall text, web listings, online catalogues, social media promotion and printed material.
• An Information Pack and Artist Agreement with further details regarding timeframes etc.

Exhibition proposals will be accepted for the CCH Emerging Artist and Commercial Galleries at the RAH, the CCH Galleries at Modbury Hospital, the CCH Gallery at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Gallery and the CCH Gallery, Lyell McEwin Hospital.

To apply please download and complete the Application Checklist and read the attached gallery documents, as specific details and requirements may vary. Submissions should consider all requirements and the specified aims of CCH’s Exhibition program.
